It was sick, just sick! The cruelty shown to Dee and Dum, plus other savage acts were painful to read about.

I'm always a bit shocked when I find myself giving Willow Rose less than five stars, but I came close to making it 3, to tell you the truth.

Additionally, the descriptions of the creepy antagonist in the beginning of the book (and throughout) just seemed stale and uninteresting. In short, my suspension of disbelief was pretty much spent. And the one gaping hole that I had an issue with was, after two deaths on the cruise ship, *whhhhy* wouldn't the cruise ship just halt its trip right then and there for forensics reasons, let alone why on earth would the characters just keep cruising.? Its fatal errors were that (1) it didn't seem believable - or perhaps I find the police and other authority figures in the story to be unbelievably inept and out of protocol (2) there were just too many instances where the author seemed to be attempting to manipulate the reader's emotions, but hadn't built up enough facts to make the emotions believable.
